Priorities

What guides my work on the board

When I ran in 2025, I made six commitments to Hellgate families. They’re the same six I bring to every agenda, budget, and vote as a trustee: deliver high-quality education, support our outstanding teachers and staff, and keep strong ties with the families and community we serve.

01Enhancing Student Success

Every child deserves access to an excellent education that prepares them for the future—academically, socially, and emotionally. What I work toward:

  • Strong core academics, including literacy, math, and science
  • Expanding STEM, technical education, and career readiness programs
  • Access to modern technology and practical life skills like financial literacy
  • Disciplined classrooms and environments that foster focus and learning

Every student at Hellgate Elementary should be supported and challenged in a safe, structured, and enriching environment.

02Supporting Our Teachers and Staff

Educators are the foundation of student success. We must support them with the resources and respect they deserve. What I work toward:

  • Competitive salaries and benefits to attract and retain top talent
  • Professional development and mentorship programs
  • Reducing administrative burdens so teachers can focus on instruction
  • Investing in classroom resources and tools that improve teaching outcomes

When we take care of our educators, they can do their best work for our kids.

03Strengthening School-Community Partnerships

Strong schools are built through strong relationships: open communication, shared values, and collaborative decision-making. What I work toward:

  • Transparency in budgeting, policy, and district priorities
  • Clear, consistent communication with families and community members
  • Welcoming parent input through advisory groups, outreach, and board participation
  • Partnering with local businesses and organizations to enhance student opportunities

Our schools belong to the community. Every voice deserves to be heard.

04Fiscally Responsible Leadership

As a steward of taxpayer dollars, I take financial accountability seriously. What I work toward:

  • Clear, accessible financial reporting
  • Prioritizing classroom resources over administrative overhead
  • Regular audits and performance reviews
  • Seeking grants and external funding to supplement the district budget

Spending must be tied to outcomes: student achievement, teacher support, and a thriving school environment.

05School Safety and Student Well-Being

A safe and focused school environment is essential for learning. What I work toward:

  • Effective school safety protocols and partnerships with local law enforcement
  • Clear discipline policies to minimize disruptions
  • Access to mental health and counseling services that support student success
  • Training for staff to respond to safety and well-being challenges

We must balance physical security with a supportive, welcoming atmosphere.

06Focused, Transparent Governance

As a board member, I always prioritize the core mission: educating students. My decisions are guided by data, community input, and long-term outcomes—not short-term trends or politics.

I bring skills in strategic planning, collaboration, and accountability, and a personal commitment as a parent and community member to serve with integrity. That means reading the packet before the meeting, asking questions in public, and explaining my votes.

Hold me to it

You elected a trustee who will always put kids first, support teachers, and listen to the community. If you think I’m falling short on any of these commitments, or you have an idea for how to do better, tell me.
